It is possible to be impressive and still be empty. We can be gifted, well-spoken, even admired by everyone around us, but if love is missing, our words are just noise. People can always tell the difference between words spoken from love and words spoken for attention.
Think about how you speak to the people closest to you. You can say all the right things — 'I love you,' 'I'm praying for you' — but if your tone is cold or impatient, the right words fall flat. Love is what gives our words their weight.
Before you speak today, pause and ask yourself one honest question: 'Am I saying this to help, or to be heard?' Let love set the tone and the volume. A simple, kind word from a caring heart travels further than the most eloquent speech ever could.
This applies to your texts, your comments, and your conversations at work and at home. You do not need fancy words; you need a loving heart behind ordinary ones. Ask God to make that your goal today.
Dear Lord, fill my heart with Your love so that everything I say flows from it. Make my words patient, kind, and honest today, even when no one is watching. In Jesus' name, Amen.
