For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,

1 Corinthians 12:8 · Knowledge
Reflection 1

Have you ever been in a conversation where someone said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment? That is rarely an accident. God's Spirit gives His people pieces of wisdom and knowledge, and He often delivers them right when someone needs them most.

Reflection 2

Notice the word "another" in this passage. Not everyone receives the same gift, and that is by design. You might be the friend who sees a situation clearly, while someone else knows just what to say to a hurting heart. That is not competition; that is God's family working together.

Reflection 3

So what does this look like today? Start simple: before that hard email, that talk with your teenager, or that big decision, pause and ask the Spirit for insight. He delights to give it. And stay humble too, because the answer you need might come through another person. Be willing to really listen.

Reflection 4

Also, when God places an encouraging thought about someone on your heart, do not sit on it. Send the text. Make the call. Share it gently. You may be carrying the very word somebody has been praying for.

Reflection 5

The Spirit's wisdom is not reserved for pastors or scholars. It is available to you in your kitchen, your office, and your neighborhood. Walk into today expecting God to give you what you need, and to use you for someone else.

Prayer

Father, thank You that Your Spirit gives wisdom and knowledge for real, everyday life. Help me ask for Your insight before I speak or decide today, and give me the courage to share what You place on my heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.
