Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all! In your hand is power and might! It is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all!
It's easy to look at what we have and think, "I earned this." And while hard work matters, today's verse reminds us of a deeper truth: everything we hold comes from God's hand. Our income, our talents, our opportunities, even the strength to get out of bed each morning, all of it is a gift from Him.
One practical way to live this out is to start each day with a simple thank-you. Before you check your phone or worry about your to-do list, thank God for three things you have. This small habit shifts your heart from "I own this" to "God trusted me with this," and that changes how you treat everything.
Holding things loosely also opens the door to generosity. If it all came from God, then it's never really ours to clutch tightly. Look for one way to give today, whether it's money, time, or encouragement to someone who needs it.
And when you feel small or inadequate, take heart. The same God who holds riches and honor holds the power to give you strength. You don't have to make yourself great; you just have to stay connected to the One who can.
So today, work hard, but work with open hands. Trust God with your needs, be generous with your blessings, and lean on Him for the strength you can't manufacture on your own.
Dear Lord, thank You that everything I have comes from Your generous hand. Help me hold it loosely, give freely, and trust You for the strength I need today. Amen.
